INKAS Turns an INEOS Fieldmaster into the World’s First Armored Grenadier
For a car that was already built like a tank, Toronto-based INKAS upped the ante with a fully armored INEOS Grenadier. With 360-degree perimeter protection against grenade blasts and assault rifle fire from multiple angles, the custom Grenadier features multi-layer ballistic glass with operable driver window, battery and ECM armoring, run-flat wheels, reinforced hinges, and fuel tank protection.
At first site, the vehicle itself doesn’t look that dissimilar to any Grenadier on the lot with the internal compartment wall behind the back seat and 3rd set of front lights – a pair of flasher/strobe lights – the only visible differences at a glance.
As with any custom car, there are a slew of awesome options available. My favorite is definitely the optional roof escape hatch.
- Engine Bay Armoring & Fire Suppression System
- Exhaust Pipe & Radiator Protection
- Tactical Add-Ons
- CCTV & GPS System w/ 360-degree view
- Advanced nightvision camera
- Siren/PA System
- Front and Rear LED Strobe Lights
- Oxygen Filtration System
- Door Assist Mechanism
- Heavy Duty Wheels & Reinforced Bumpers
- Blackout Package
No word yet on a revised fuel economy or estimated gross vehicle weight as despite the added body armor, the armored Grenadier is still powered by a stock BMW 3.0L turbo straight six with 282 hp. I think this rules out evading the attacker as a viable option. The INKAS is probably the only car on the road a Grenadier could beat in the quarter mile.
